Note to the examiner

Dear Examiner , Throughout the course of creating my alternative magazine and using blogger I have learnt that evaluating, research and planning carry a great importance in this process. This has helped me to develop a better understanding of many things such as how to use Photoshop. I hope you enjoy the work that I have done. Thank you, Amy Bradley.

Magazine cover (final)

Image
This is my final design idea for the front cover of my magazine. I really love the simplicity of the layout because it allows the audience to see all the information they might need and has a slight similarity to Clash's magazine layout and style. Although I have decided to use a white background behind the photograph to compliment the title of my magazine and what the artist is wearing.  I ensured that my artist wore clothing that linked to the style of my magazine (alternative) which is why he is seen wearing a simple black top. My intentions here are to gain attention through my unique title and bold artist names. I also decided to put the duo 'Camellia' in a baby blue colour as this is their signature colour (which is seen later on within my double page spread). I also believe this might add elements of curiosity for my front cover.

Contents (final)

Image
Here is an image of my final contents page idea. I decided to choose this idea because I believed the colour scheme of the page was more fitting; its simplistic and all the information needed is accessible; I also decided to add a small image of the front cover to this page to illustrate the 'physical copy'. Despite the fact that the changes I made aren't very drastic, I believe this contents page comes across as more sophisticated-possibly due to its black and white colour scheme.

Double page spread (final)

Image
My idea behind this double page spread was influenced by one of many of Clash's magazine layouts-which feature a large photograph to the right of the page and to the left is often a coloured background or small photo. I then decided to display 'Camellia' in baby blue font as this is their signature colour and I believed it allowed the duo's name to come across as highlighted on this double page spread. I used symbols resembling a Chinese Camellia flower to provide my target audience with some imagery of this Chinese flower (wi thin my article it explains what this is).
