David Carson
Carson is an American Graphic Designer, who is well known for his experimental use of typography. He was also the art director for the magazine 'Ray Gun'. This was the beginning of his unique layouts and 'grunge typography'.


Here is an example of one of Carson's ideas of 'grunge' typography. As you can see he enjoys to add more extravagant fonts to his magazines in order for it to become independent and stand out from the crowd. People often say that his work is imitated but never matched, as he continues to be one of the most distinctive typographic voices.



Here is another example of Carson's work and at first the focus is on the title and picture as they are the most eye-catching at first glance. However, as you look closely you can witness what Carson is known for- his typography. As we can see that within this image of his work, the font compliments the colours in the photograph.



An Art Service

An Art Service is a Graphic Design and Art Direction Company which is located in New York-founded by Brendan Dugan. It is said that An Art Service offer clients a simple approach to design that shows the aesthetic power of art and photography.                  










































Some of the companies clients include: Dolce & Gabbana, Nike, Diesel and Yale University Press. They are said to keep with the look of artists' books from the 1960s and 1970s.

Omar Sosa

Sosa is an Art Director, Publisher and graphic designer. He has developed graphic design projects both for national and international companies such as Mango and Camper. His projects show that he is talented as he was awarded the best complete magazine award in 2010 by the Designs and Art Directors Association (UK).

As you can see from these images of Sosa's work, he aims to make his work simple and sticks to simple layouts and colours.
